It is ‘end of life’ for Sage version 2015

Sage version 2015 is now officially ‘end of life’. What does this mean? It means that if you are using Sage 2015 you will no longer receive support from Sage for this particular version of the accounting software.  This ensures that software is constantly updated to meet the needs of those using it, as well as ensuring it keeps up to date with the technological changes driving the development of accounting software and financial reporting.

If you are using Sage version 2015 or older then you should have received a letter from Sage about upgrading. As Sage specialists we are delighted to be able to offer our clients competitive quotes for supplying the latest version of Sage. It may also be a good time for a general review of your accounting software needs as you look to the next few years.

To find out more about the latest version of Sage, to obtain a quote or for a general review please speak to your usual Streets contact or email sage@streetsweb.co.uk

The launch of Sage 50c

Sage has launched a new version of its popular Sage 50 software called Sage 50c.

This new version benefits from Microsoft 365 connectivity so that you can link to Microsoft Outlook and the road map shows more ‘cloud like’ software features being added later this year.

Going forward all Sage users will use Sage 50c and then decide if they want to pay extra to use the ‘c’ elements.

If using cloud based accounting software is of interest to you then please speak to your usual Streets contact and a member of the accounting software team will be able to help you review your options. Streets are well versed in Sage’s latest offering as well as those offered by Xero and QuickBooks Online.

Sage goes to subscription from the end of March

As of 31st March 2017 you will no longer be able to pay for Sage on a ‘one off’ basis. Many clients choose to upgrade their Sage product every few years, however this option is being removed and all Sage users will be migrated over to monthly subscription licences. This subscription model is more in line with how businesses and individuals use and licence software in the 21st century.

For those who upgrade every two or three years this is a big change. If you haven’t upgraded for a while and would like to upgrade now before subscriptions become mandatory then please do contact your usual Streets contact or email sage@streetsweb.co.uk
