The winners of Made in Lincolnshire 2016 have been announced at a celebration event which took place at the DoubleTree by Hilton Lincoln today.

The Made in Lincolnshire celebration event recognised the variety of goods and services produced in Lincolnshire that demonstrate pioneering thinking.

The event was organised by Streets Chartered Accountants, Business Lincolnshire and NatWest Bank and was hosted by Melvyn Prior, Presenter at BBC Radio Lincolnshire. The event also served to highlight the county’s well earned reputation for innovation and manufacturing.

Made in Lincolnshire consisted of six categories in which businesses/products were nominated. The winners in each category were:

Made in Lincolnshire Sold Locally – Househam Sprayers Ltd

Made in Lincolnshire Sold Nationwide – Jakemans (Confectioners) Ltd

Made in Lincolnshire Sold Overseas – Tag Guard Ltd

Made in Lincolnshire for Many Generations – Lincat Ltd

To Be Made in Lincolnshire – Avalon Cabins Ltd and BGB SILS (Joint winners)

Made in Lincolnshire World Class – E. H. Thorne (Beehives) Ltd

Councillor Colin Davie, Executive Cllr for Development at Lincolnshire County Council, commented: “We know Lincolnshire businesses make world-class products, and that's a message we want to spread far and wide. These awards are a chance to shout about some of the great work taking place right on our doorstep, showcasing the best of the best. Hopefully, this will help raise awareness of all the county has to offer, bringing new opportunities for all involved.”

James Pinchbeck, Marketing Partner at Streets Chartered Accountants, added: “We are delighted with the number and quality of entries for this, the first Made in Lincolnshire celebration.  We have had more than 75 entries from across the county from the small artisan producer to the larger businesses exporting worldwide.

“Whilst many of the more traditional sectors of the Greater Lincolnshire economy were represented, including food and agriculture, it was great to see entries from emerging sectors including technology. Through this event we hope to promote the importance of manufacturing within the county as a key sector for future enterprise and careers and we sincerely believe we have helped to achieve this.”

Garry Wilkinson, Senior Relationship Manager at NatWest Bank said: “Following the success of the Greater Lincolnshire Manufacturing Conference in March, we are delighted to co-sponsor the inaugural Made in Lincolnshire awards which showcases and celebrates the many fantastic manufacturing businesses that we have in Lincolnshire.

“There were many excellent entries and the quality of the applications made the task of judging a difficult one. NatWest remain passionate about supporting the manufacturing sector, which is a significant part of the UK economy and as demonstrated by these awards, an area that is strong within our county.”

The Judging panel included representation from the three host organisations, UKTI, IoD, Lincolnshire Business Magazine, Lincolnshire Investment Network and NBV Enterprise Solutions.
