As Academy specialists, we are delighted to be hosting our 11th Academy Update.
A free and informative update for all schools and Academies – Headteachers, Accounting officers, Bursars/Business Managers and Governors – especially those on the finance/audit committee.
This session will be led by Streets’ Academy Partners Robert Anderson and Georgii Gale.
The presentations will cover the Academies Accounts Direction for 2023, including key changes for financial reporting as we and our academy clients undertake the completion of annual accounts for 31st August 2022.
There will be a particular focus on the key changes including:
- Feedback from ESFA’s review of AAD compliance
- Governance statement changes
- Business rates change
- Teaching schools and ‘hubs’
The new Academy Trust Handbook 2022 - we will cover the key points of interest and specific action to be taken, including:
- Governance structure to include parents
- Board’s responsibilities – include safeguarding, H&S and estate management
- Headteacher/CEO not automatically a trustee
- Emphasising the value of external reviews of governance
